Vision Statement
At the Association of Sign Language Interpreters – India (ASLI), we envision a future where the Indian deaf community enjoys full and equal participation in all areas of life. We aim to create a society where communication barriers are eliminated, and deaf individuals can access education, healthcare, employment, and social services with ease and dignity.
To achieve this vision, we are committed to:
- Enhancing Professional Standards: We will continually strive to improve the quality and standards of sign language interpreting through rigorous training, certification, and professional development programs. Our goal is to produce highly skilled interpreters who can facilitate seamless communication between deaf and hearing individuals.
- Advocacy and Awareness: We will work tirelessly to advocate for the rights of the deaf community, raising awareness about their needs and challenges. We will collaborate with policymakers, institutions, and the public to promote inclusive policies and practices that support accessibility and equality.
- Community Empowerment: We will empower the deaf community by providing resources, support, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. Our efforts will focus on building a strong, informed, and self-sufficient community that can advocate for itself and drive positive change.
Together, we can build an inclusive and accessible India where deaf individuals are respected, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.
